from nate

Hi everyone!

Just stopping by to tell you a few things you may not already know about me...

First of all, I can now pucker up and kiss with my mouth closed. (Photo to follow someday when I catch him in action.)

And...I can eat and entire meal with a fork!

Pretty impressive, huh?

I love to show off my new skills.

Oh, and...I love spaghetti! Slurp!

Love,

Nate

garbanzo bean yumminess

This is my new favorite dish:

1 can organic garbanzo beans
1 ripe avocado
1 leek
1 lime
garlic powder

Drain the garbanzo beans and mix together with the chopped ripe avocado and thinly sliced leek. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice out of both halves onto the bean mixture. Stir. Add garlic powder to taste.

A few nights ago, I paired it with some fresh sourdough bread.

Don't knock it til you try it. It's pretty darn yummy.

wanna see the before and after?

As a reminder, here's where we started...

And...here's what it looks like now...

We love them more than we imagined we could.

The icing on the cake is that the kids love them too! They almost never played on the tile floors. Too cold, too hard, too yuck? They played for almost 2 hours this evening on the new wood floors. I honestly feel like we've added square footage to our house!

post immunization photo shoot

After two shots in his left thigh, he was feeling pretty nasty, but (in pure Nate form) mustered up some smiles for me. I asked him to make his saddest face in the last shot. He cracks me up.

Stats at 18 months old (5/26/09):

Weight - 26 lbs, 6 ounces (60th percentile)
Length - 32.5 inches (55th percentile)
Head Circum. - 49.5 centimeters (90th percentile)

The boy with the big head. Gotta love him! :) Developmentally, he's right on track especially now that he is saying some actual words. He was a handful during his visit mainly because he wanted to get down and play. His favorite part was the fish tank in the waiting area.

dear diary,

I wish we could be friends, but you are a diary and I am a people. We are all people here. Well, except you. You are a diary. But, I love you anyway.

Love,

floors - day 4

The floors were sanded, buffed and sealed today. Just one more coat of seal tomorrow and they are done! Then, the hard part....we wait for them to dry and then we put the house back together :). They are gorgeous!

We are beyond thrilled! And to think the floors aren't even "finished" yet. Tomorrow they'll be sanded and sealed. More pics to come!

silverton pet parade 2009

One of the traditions we've come to love most living in Silverton is the annual pet parade. This year was extra special because Sophia got to walk with her brother, cousin, and all of her friends from Bluebird Montessori!
